The paper argues that the consolidation of entrepreneurship education at primary and high school levels in South Africa can contribute to socio-economic development but also help address issues such as poverty inequality and youth unemployment. This paper employed Schumpeter's Theory of Innovation and the Need for Achievement Theory as a theoretical lens. A systematic literature review was employed as a research approach in this paper. Five databases were used to search for data. The paper revealed that entrepreneurship education had not been fully consolidated in South Africa's primary education sector, significantly depriving learners of innovative skills and competencies to help them become entrepreneurs tomorrow. The paper recommends that the government accelerate the inclusion of entrepreneurship as a standalone subject in the primary education sector so that by the time learners graduate from high school and enter university, they have a deep understanding of entrepreneurship, which increases their chances of becoming entrepreneurs, thus contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
Victor H Mlambo Lethiwe Mbongwa Thandiwe Khambule Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Social Science 2024-07-11 2024-07-11 4 04 1 20 Analysıs Of Refreezıng Change Model On Performance Of Kenya Broadcastıng Corporatıon https://ajmesc.com/index.php/ajmesc/article/view/965
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), like many organizations, faces the challenge of adapting to a dynamic environment. To enhance its performance, KBC has implemented various strategies, including sustainable programs. However, intense competition from other licensed stations, such as Citizen TV, KTN News, KTN Home, NTV, K24, and TV47, has impacted KBC’s performance. Over the years, KBC has transitioned from being a top media house to a struggling station. This study investigated the influence of refreezing Change Management Model on KBC’s performance. Refreezing change is one of the components of Lewin’s model, which comprises three stages; - Unfreeze, Change, and Refreeze and provides a structured approach to managing organizational change. The study was informed on the basis of Kurt Lewin change management model, Mckinsey 7s model, ADKAR change management model, Kotter’s Eight -step change model, kubler-Rose change curve and Nudge theory, thus proving a comprehensive framework for change managment. A descriptive research strategy was used for this investigation. One hundred and thirty-two employees of the Organization made up the sample population. Sampling was performed using the census technique. Primary data collection involved self-administration of questionnaires. Presentation was done using tables, figures and charts. The overall implication of the study shows that refreezing is currently being used by KBC to improve improving KBC’s operational efficiency and effectiveness and hence performance. Major conclusion is that the departmental heads at KBC (Kenya Broadcasting Corporation) generally agree that the process of “refreezing” (disrupting existing routines and mindsets) has a positive impact on KBC’s performance to a great extent. The study offers actionable recommendations such as: KBC should invest in training programs and effective communication strategies to ensure that employees understand and embrace the refreezing process; regular monitoring of the impact of refreezing initiatives on performance metrics and adjusts strategies accordingly ensuring alignment between departmental heads and KBC leaders in communicating the importance of unfreezing. The study contributes to the body of knowledge by offering empirical and practical evidence of refreezing stage of Lewin’s Change Management Model and its significance in organizational performance.
Vivian Isiche Evans Nyamboga Mandere Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Social Science 2024-07-11 2024-07-11 4 04 21 46 Evaluatıng Customer Perceptıons And Expectatıons Of The Servıce Qualıty Delıvery A Case Of The Cıty Of Tshwane Emergency Management Servıces Department https://ajmesc.com/index.php/ajmesc/article/view/745
Emergency services are intangible, making it challenging for public agencies like the City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department (CoT's ESD) to analyse customers perceptions and assess the desired results of their service quality. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive methodology, aiming to delve into and portray phenomena, events, and situations in a thorough and comprehensive narrative manner. Data were collected through triangulation to ensure validity and reliability. In-depth interviews were conducted with informants including the Tourism Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency, academics, local communities, private sector representatives, and media. Observations were carried out via quasi-participation, where the researcher partially engaged in observing the Pacu Jalur event. Documentation related to the Pacu Jalur festival was also gathered as evidence for this study. Additionally, a literature review of other research was conducted to enhance both theoretical and practical insights. The findings reveal that Pacu Jalur, as a tourist attraction, holds significant tourism potential. However, the tourism product components for visitors remain minimal. The stages of event management are neither effective nor efficient. The promotional mix by the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency is social media-based but has yet to reach a broad tourism market. Strategies identified include the political aspect indicating strong government support but also political instability, which could hinder tourism operators. The economic aspect shows that while the Pacu Jalur event generates substantial revenue from hotels, restaurants, and parking, it lacks official sponsors. The social aspect demonstrates that the community is actively involved in both the event's execution and the preservation of this tradition. The environmental aspect reveals that Pacu Jalur has adopted selective logging practices to maintain environmental sustainability. The legal aspect indicates that regulations concerning Pacu Jalur have been formalized as guidelines under regent regulation No. 16 of 2023. In conclusion, event management and promotional strategies are not yet functioning effectively and efficiently, necessitating the implementation of strategies to achieve optimal results.
Annisa Rizki Ananda Yohanes Kristianto Yayu Indrawati Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Social Science 2024-09-12 2024-09-12 4 04 231 246 Influence of Job Analysis on Worker Productivity in Hospitals at Kisii County https://ajmesc.com/index.php/ajmesc/article/view/870
With such hiring procedures in place, management anticipated attracting and selecting the most suitable applicants with the requisite skills, abilities, and qualities to meet job requirements and simultaneously support the company in accomplishing its overarching goals. This type of research is legal research that uses a statutory approach, conceptual approach and comparative legal approach. The results of this study indicate that protecting debtor customer data and information through bank secrecy rules is relevant. Protection of data and information of all customers is necessary because it is a human right that has been guaranteed in the constitution, besides that personal data has a certain financial value and has become a tradable asset commodity. Debtor customers have an equally important position as depositors, the bank's intermediary function will not run without the activity of channeling funds to debtor customers. Therefore, in special circumstances, debtor customers with current credit collectibility can be considered to be protected in bank secrecy. Malaysia and the UK provide more adequate protection of debtor customer data and information compared to Indonesia, which limits the scope of bank secrets to depositors and their deposits.
Erma Defiana Putriyanti Abdul Rachmad Budiono Sukarmi Sukarmi Reka Dewantara Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Social Science 2024-09-19 2024-09-19 4 04 347 366 Application of Article 20 of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Protection of Personal Data in Company E-Commerce As a Personal Data Controller in Processing Personal Data (Case Study at PT. One problem that often comes up in local culture is keeping its identity. We must work together to keep it alive so the next generation can experience it. For example, the historic mosque is an essential part of Indonesian cultural heritage that needs to be protected because it has crucial spiritual, historical, social, and artistic values. Many cultural heritage items are in danger because of how quickly things change. As a result, it is essential to protect old mosques as part of Indonesia's cultural heritage. It can quickly look through ancient mosques and use them to guide religious-based heritage tourism by combining a knowledge management system (KMS) with a location-based service (LBS). Through KMS, information from different sources can be organized and clearly shown. This can help historic mosques and those nearby people be seen for what they can do. The clearance process for imported goods, which is heavily reliant on customs broking services, poses significant obstacles to effective and efficient port operations. This paper aimed at investigating customs documentation on the performance of port operations in Tanzania. The study employed a descriptive research design. Data was collected through a questionnaire from 109 samples and interviews, as well as analysed by descriptive statistics and multiple regressions. The findings of the study showed that there is no experience of delays in tax payment processing, particularly general duties. This implies that the clearance process is going smoothly. Furthermore, according to the findings, manipulating shipping documents, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bill of lading, by undervaluing the items or submitting a lower total invoice value, is likely to result in clearance delays and penalties, particularly if the authorities discover the truth and demand payment from the importer. In regression also, the study revealed that customs documentation has a positive effect on the performance of port operations in Tanzania due to the (B-value=0.944 and P-value=0.000<0.05), which signifies that increase in proper customs documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bill of lading leads to increase in performance of port operations by 94.4%. The study recommended that the importer should make sure documents shared with the broker, namely the clearing agent, are tallying with the goods imported. This way the broker can be able to timely clear the goods with no additional demurrage or storage. Because inaccuracy in shipping documents is among the challenges contributing to clearance delays and the unreliability of clearing agents
Aika Elia Machange Masoud Yussuf Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Management, Entrepreneurship and Social Science 2024-10-10 2024-10-10 4 04 850 867 Monitoring of Project Contract and Completion of Road Projects in Kenya: A Case of Kenya Rural Roads Authority in Embu County https://ajmesc.com/index.php/ajmesc/article/view/1088
Implementation of road projects involves complex contracts with numerous challenges that make it difficult for successful completion of projects. The Weibull distribution is commonly used to model this kind of data, but it is unsuitable for data with non-monotonic hazard functions, such as the bathtub-shaped hazard. Therefore, the exponentiated additive Weibull distribution is introduced as a generalization of the Weibull distribution, adding a new parameter via exponentiation to make the model more flexible in handling left-skewed, right-skewed, and non-monotonic hazard functions in lifetime data. Key properties of the exponentiated additive Weibull distribution, including probability density, cumulative distribution, survival function, hazard function, and moments, will be discussed, with parameter estimation done using maximum likelihood.
